What a Quality Manager Learned Putting an OMTech 100W Laser and a Silatu Plasma Cutter Through Their Paces

So if you're spec'ing a CO2 laser for your shop, or comparing an OMTech laser against an old system, do this: run your test files, measure the actual output, and don't trust the first pass. The machine won't always be the problem. Sometimes it's the regulator. Sometimes it's the table. Sometimes it's your own checklist. Trust but verify—and if the price seems too good, dig deeper before you skip it.

Or, put another way: the specs got us in the door. The testing kept us honest. That's the lesson.
